    What was your first cosplay?

Oh god, well the first cosplay I wore at my first convention in 2007 was a closet cosplay of Itachi from Naruto as I was a big fan of series back then! My first complete self made cosplay was Hijikata Toushiro from Gintama made with techniques and fabrics I would never have done today! Well you learned something from every cosplay you make!

What do you do besides cosplaying?

At my daily work I am a service worker in the garden/amusement park Tivoli in Copenhagen where I am the field of guest service and security (controller). My spare time is used hanging out with friends.

What made you start cosplaying, and what is it that inspires you to continue with it?

I have always been a huge fan of theatre and costumes – though having stage freight was some issue but I got over it after some time. With cosplay I see a way for me to be creative and use my talents with the different techniques and also learning new ones! To be able to look at a design and recreate it and play out a character that you really feel for is an amazing feeling which is why I keep doing this – also made some great friendships along the way.

What is your favourite cosplay up until now, and what made you choose to portray that character?

My Radagast the Brown from the Hobbit has a big space in my heart as it was a challenge to make it. It started out with a friend in jest said I should make (old man joke) and then I started thinking of how different from my other cosplays he would be. His design, beard, staff with a big crystal, all the weathering was out of my comfort zone but I am so happy whenever I wear this cosplay because it is so different! Also people get surprised seeing this grey bearded person and a woman’s voice speaking to them!

Do you have any specific techniques or materials that you like working with when creating your costumes?

I have a great love for embroidery since there are so many different techniques and I really relax while I do it – also good to do while commuting to work! The research part before actually crafting is also something that I enjoy doing. Material wise it really depends on what cosplay I am making though I do like historical things so I want to go for materials that suit the specific time era but party sateen (a thicker than the normal sateen) is also a favorite since it can be used for loads of purposes. I work mostly with fabrics but have also tried both thermoplastics and resin – still working on the techniques! But I love experimenting on how to use them and getting better at it!

How did you qualify for the Nordic Cosplay Championship 2019?

I participated in the Danish Cosplay Championship at J-popcon 2019 with my Fairy Godmother cosplay.

What do you look forward to most with the competition?

I really look forward to be on the stage - this time as a contestant (have been an assistant two times before in 2013 and 2016) and see what the other contestants bring! Both the craft and performance is high at the NCC so I am excited to meet everyone and talk about costumes and techniques. The show is always a favorite since it looks so professional and the competition develops every year.

What costume do you plan on competing with in the finals, and what made you choose it?

I am competing with my Fairy Godmother cosplay as I qualified with her and I am not able to make a costume on the same level within two months and she is one of my most detailed both craft and construction wise so it was an easy choice. Also I still have some good ideas for what to perform on stage with her that I hope to do here at the NCC.
